It is with deepest sympathy that Global Talent Mentoring mourns the loss of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the Minister of Finance and Industry of the United Arab Emirates, who sadly passed away at age 75 on 24 March 2021. His Highness was known for his interest in humanitarian work, his passion for culture, literature, and scientific development, and his support of sustainable human development based on dialogue, tolerance, and partnership.
He was recognized internationally for his work by respected institutions, including the Royal College of Physicians and UNESCO. His Highness also established several outstanding initiatives, such as the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, the UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development, and the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance, the latter two of which are recognized by UNESCO.
His Highness’s remarkable, lifelong contributions to youth education and talent support in the United Arab Emirates, the Arab World, and internationally—including his eponymous UNESCO-recognized foundation behind Global Talent Mentoring—will be remembered with the legacy he leaves the world.

Today’s unemployment situation is paramount, and for His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and partners to have such a remarkable
lens on talent mentoring and development is
a means of bridging the gap between education and industry worldwide for sustainable development
and intervention. This move is a big dream. His Highness have left a legacy for generations and will be remembered forever.
