The Program

Global Talent Mentoring is a worldwide program that provides long-term, research-based support and guidance to students from all countries who excel in one or more STEMM fields, all at no cost. The core method of talent support is one-on-one mentoring, combined with collaborative and interdisciplinary discussion of and work on STEMM topics in projects and challenges. Global Talent Mentoring offers a singular opportunity for networking: a community of eminent, internationally renowned STEMM experts together with excellent youths, each eager to develop their talents, provides a unique opportunity to connect with specialists and inquisitive young academics from all over the world.

To this end, Global Talent Mentoring recruits exceptionally talented youths in STEMM to become mentees and outstanding STEMM experts to volunteer as mentors. The program then matches each mentee with a mentor in the same field of interest, generally from a different culture.

Global Talent Mentoring helps mentees build their own individual learning pathways. A learning pathway is a plan that guides mentees to achieve excellence in their respective fields. The Global Talent Mentoring online platform offers tools for mentees to design their individual learning pathways and connects them with mentors and other specialists who are ready and able to advise the mentees on the implementation of their learning pathway.

Global Talent Mentoring reaches out to its mentees and mentors through its network of partners. Our international network connects the most outstanding students and experts from all continents, thereby achieving a truly global network of STEMM talents and specialists.

The concept and the preparation of Global Talent Mentoring are based on rigorous scientific research. Additionally, accompanying research of the program’s key features—mentoring, networking, and learning pathways—is an integral part of Global Talent Mentoring. Only with that kind of research can mentoring programs ensure their effectiveness and continually enhance the mentoring experience for both mentees and mentors.

Global Talent Mentoring is a program by the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. After four years of conceptualization by a team at the University of Regensburg, the first three years of the planned ten-year pilot was implemented by teams at the University of Regensburg, the Friedrich Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, and the Hamdan Foundation. As of 8 October 2024, the program is solely operated by the Hamdan Foundation in Dubai. Global Talent Mentoring is a flagship offering of the World Giftedness Center.
