Global Talent Mentoring is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Advanced Material Pandemic and Future Preparedness Taskforce (AMPT).
AMPT is an independent, international public-benefit organization committed to facilitating the global use of advanced materials to solve some of humanity’s most immediate challenges and emerging needs. Headquartered in the United States, AMPT was founded in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, but with a longer-term mission to facilitate international cross-discipline collaboration to use material science at the service of society and humanity. Through the use of advanced materials, AMPT aims to proactively solve pressing global problems by aligning the knowledge and actions of leaders from academia, industry, and policy-making organizations. These carefully selected individuals and the organizations they represent help to create an international “future preparedness” infrastructure and shape national and international agendas that will maximize the positive impact of advanced materials on society and human life. AMPT members represent thirty leading universities and institutions in STEMM located on four continents. AMPT has created an advanced network of organizations, a comprehensive library of knowledge, and a roadmap of user-centric needs. Together, the offerings deliver a framework for devising strategies, coordinating global activities, and fast-tracking solutions to address the urgent technological and societal needs of the post-pandemic world.
Global Talent Mentoring and AMPT are partnering to help realize the shared goals of solving some of humanity’s most pressing challenges and advancing the global talent pipeline in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medical sciences (STEMM)—particularly in areas where STEMM talent development resources might be limited. Within this context, AMPT has committed to helping identify STEMM experts from across the globe in order to enable exceptionally talented youth in the Global South to participate in Global Talent Mentoring as mentees. Such partnerships enable Global Talent Mentoring to expand its international network of STEMM talent, as well as broaden the reach of the positive impact it makes in the lives of outstanding youths in STEMM. STEMM experts who want to make the valuable contribution as a mentor can register on the AMPT website or on the Global Talent Mentoring website.
