Udru­ga za darovi­tost DAR (DAR) pro­vides sup­port to gift­ed stu­dents in the Repub­lic of Croa­t­ia, of which there are about 7,500 accord­ing to the nation­al strat­e­gy of sci­ence, edu­ca­tion and tech­nol­o­gy. DAR works to help imple­ment this nation­al strat­e­gy. DAR has been oper­at­ing since 2014 as a civic ini­tia­tive, reg­is­tered as an asso­ci­a­tion in 2015, and con­sists of par­ents and pro­fes­sion­al asso­ciates. Among oth­er ini­tia­tives, DAR aims to pro­mote the rights and real­iza­tion of gift­ed indi­vid­u­als in soci­ety, raise aware­ness of gift­ed­ness as a social asset, and mobi­lize a net­work of gift­ed chil­dren, par­ents of gift­ed chil­dren, NGOs, sci­ence pro­mot­ers, gov­ern­ment insti­tu­tions, and pro­fes­sion­als and ser­vices that want to sup­port gift­ed­ness. DAR also sup­ports inno­v­a­tive ideas and projects, as well as edu­ca­tion­al staff in con­tin­u­ing edu­ca­tion who work with gift­ed individuals.
