Triple­bar Bio is a syn­thet­ic biol­o­gy com­pa­ny based in Cal­i­for­nia. It is a ven­ture-backed start­up with fund­ing from The Pro­duc­tion Board, a VC firm with a focus on sus­tain­abil­i­ty, espe­cial­ly in the food and agri­cul­ture indus­tries. Triple­bar Bio works at the inter­face of bio­log­i­cal and engi­neer­ing sci­ences to engi­neer and dis­cov­er microbes that pro­duce a wide range of mol­e­cules across the food, agri­cul­ture, and phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal indus­tries. Founder and CTO Dr. Agresti’s back­ground is in biol­o­gy and genet­ics, with post­doc­tor­al stud­ies in physics and engi­neer­ing. He has led R&D teams at syn­thet­ic biol­o­gy com­pa­nies and, most recent­ly, led a team of 100 sci­en­tists and engi­neers devel­op­ing research and med­ical diag­nos­tics instru­men­ta­tion and assays.
