The Min­istry of Edu­ca­tion and Sci­ence (MES) gov­erns all poli­cies and activ­i­ties relat­ed to edu­ca­tion and sci­ence in the Repub­lic of Bul­gar­ia. Among the aims of the MES is the imple­men­ta­tion of a suc­cess­ful process of strate­gic trans­for­ma­tion of high­er edu­ca­tion to bet­ter com­pete in the Euro­pean and glob­al race for knowl­edge, skills, and eco­nom­ic and mate­r­i­al pros­per­i­ty. The MES also sup­ports Bul­gar­i­an researchers who need access to state-of-the-art sci­en­tif­ic facil­i­ties to con­duct com­pet­i­tive research at an inter­na­tion­al lev­el. The access to mod­ern infra­struc­ture is an impor­tant fac­tor in attract­ing and retain­ing the best stu­dents, PhDs, and researchers.
