About the institution

The Asso­ci­a­tion of Hun­gar­i­an Tal­ent Sup­port Orga­ni­za­tions (MATEHETSZ – an acronym from the Hun­gar­i­an name) is a non-prof­it umbrel­la orga­ni­za­tion that legal­ly rep­re­sents its mem­bers and the Nation­al Tal­ent Sup­port Coun­cil. It con­tributes to the unfold­ing and uti­liza­tion of tal­ent by iden­ti­fy­ing, sup­port­ing, and devel­op­ing high­ly gift­ed youth. It man­ages the pri­or­i­ty project called Nation­al Tal­ent Point, the Euro­pean Tal­ent Cen­tre, Budapest, and ran over 30 projects using var­i­ous fund­ings (e.g., the Nation­al Tal­ent Pro­gramme, the Euro­pean Union, the Tem­ple­ton Foun­da­tion) aim­ing to find sup­port for young tal­ents, help their edu­ca­tors, and cre­ate a tal­ent-friend­ly envi­ron­ment in the coun­try. In the last 5 years more than 35,000 young­sters have been sup­port­ed through its programs.
The Asso­ci­a­tion has been a cor­po­rate mem­ber of the Euro­pean Coun­cil for High Abil­i­ty since 2010 and an affil­i­ate mem­ber of the World Coun­cil for Gift­ed and Tal­ent­ed Chil­dren since 2011.
