Kotebe Metropolitan University (KMU), founded in 1976, offers education through the graduate level in eight different colleges: the College of Education and Behavioral Studies, College of Natural and Computational Sciences, Faculty of Languages and Humanities, Faculty of Urban Development Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Faculty of Business and Economics, Sport Academy, and Science and Technology Innovation Center. KMU is one of the few universities in Ethiopia to start a STEM program for talented elementary and secondary school students. KMU has also started a science shared campus which is currently mentoring approximately 350 high performing students selected in Addis Ababa. Furthermore, the university has designated a separate body to promote STEM education in the university and support as many talented students as possible.
