About the institution

Green School was conceived by its founders, John and Cynthia Hardy in 2006 and opened its gates in September 2008. Green School’s mission of “a community of learners making our world sustainable” sets the core philosophy of why and how the School educates. The Learning Programme aims to prepare learners for the real world by equipping them with knowledge, values and skills to navigate an ever-changing world. Beyond that, it empowers them to make an impact, not in the future, but now. The School started in September 2008 with 90 students and a tailor-made campus that emerged from the jungle and rice fields. Since then it has grown to 400 students and to an inspiring example of education for sustainability and a beacon for the future of education, with a growing community of Green Schools opening around the world.
