About the institution

Astra, the Danish national center for science education, is the coordinating and unifying actor that strengthens science learning in Denmark. Astra helps create knowledge and awareness of science, as well as recruits participants for scientific education programs and competitions. Through collaboration and coordination across the educational chain, Astra works to equip a new generation of children and young people in Denmark with science skills. Astra has approximately 60 employees at four different locations in Denmark. Among Astra’s many activities is hosting Young Scientist, the largest national competition for youngsters interested in science, and Science Talents, a large talent center making science camps for talented youngsters all year round.
